There are no meaningless traditions in the Navy, everything is justified and beautiful. This is what Leonid Sobolev, a classic of Russian maritime literature, wrote in his book "Capital Repair." The Northern Fleet can rightfully consider itself the right-wing flagship of the Russian Navy in the revival of traditional Russian naval heraldic traditions and the founder of new ones. Almost all of the Northern Fleet's surface ship squadrons have coats of arms that rival the recognized masterpieces of Russian heraldic art in terms of their aesthetic, artistic, and symbolic value. And, in my opinion, the coat of arms of the heavy aircraft-carrying cruiser Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Kuznetsov undoubtedly leads among the naval ones: "May friends rejoice and enemies be afraid when they see the golden griffin walking in the glow of the Lazarev field. In his right paw he holds a silver harpoon and arrow. In the left - a golden shield, in the center of which is the emblem of an aircraft carrier..."
Leaving the coastline far behind, the helicopter of the Commander of the Northern Fleet was moving deeper into the airspace over the Barents Sea.
