Удивительные находки делают молдавские археологи в Пруте - Днестровском междуречье. Находят городища, посады эпохи раннего средневековья, след которых давным-давно уже был позабыт.

- Особенно интересно Екимауцкое городище, - рассказывает старший научный сотрудник отдела этнографии и искусствоведения АН Молдавии, кандидат исторических наук В. Бейлекчи. - Его биография началась в девятом-десятом веках, а завершилась, судя по всему, после пожара в одиннадцатом веке. Здесь жили славяне. По-своему уникален и посад городища Рудь на севере Молдавии. Похоже, что славянская материальная культура развивалась здесь на протяжении седьмого-тринадцатого веков. Нашли даже почти целые домницы, горны, инструменты металлургов. А ведь в этих краях нет и не было железной руды...
